repair _ boro on denim

Stéphanies denim jacket got a big hole in the back, which was growing over time.

The jacket has been repaired and reinforced by patching up the hole with a few pieces of scrap denim. Afterwards, the pieces has been stitched to the main fabric.

Boro is derived from the ancient Japanese term ‘boroboro’, meaning something tattered or repaired and refers to the practice of using little scraps of fabric to patch and mend worn, torn textiles to extend their life. (from: The Art of Repair by Molly Martin)
